Helene Larocque was
elected as Alderman for Ward 3 in October of 2004. She proudly represents
over 90,000 citizens in Calgary's largest ward. Helene lives in the
northeast area for 20 years where she is raising her family; in which she currently serves and is committed
to ensuring constituent issues are heard and addressed.
As Alderman for Ward 3,
Helene has been successful in pushing for the development of much needed
emergency services facilities within her ward. She has remained focused on
other community priorities, such as, improving infrastructure, increasing
affordable housing, recreation facility development, and protecting the
environment both within the Ward and for the City. On Council, she has been
an advocate for public engagement, in making sure the community is heard on
all issues. Her position is that good government includes the community.
Helene brings a wealth of
community, volunteer, business & public service experience to her position.
She served as the President and the planning and development director of the
Martindale Community Association. She was elected as President of the
Federation of Calgary Communities. Helene is also a past member of the
Library board. Helene also brings extensive leadership, management,
negotiating and problem solving skills to her position of Alderman for Ward
3.

Team Helene
Helene is supported by three staff members at city hall. They are
each responsible for different tasks, each having a goal of assisting ward 3
residents. If you ever need any

Chris Tomiyama
Executive Assistant
Chris is Helene's Executive
Assistant and has been a part of Helene's staff beginning in
April 2005. Chris plays an integral member of her team and
assists Helene with her role as Alderman for ward 3.
Chris is instrumental in ensuring that things run smoothly
within the office and arranges for meetings for Helene.
Before joining team Helene, he has been the CAO for the
Falconridge/Castleridge Community Association as well as
have worked for the Boys and Girls Club. |
Shaminder Parmar
Constituent Assistant
Shaminder is the newest member on Helene's team as of May of 2007. He is responsible for assisting constituents
with their concerns when they call our office and ensures
that concerns are brought to Helene's attention. You may also
see him at various Ward 3 public events. Shaminder is also
serving on the planning committee of the 2007 North of
McKnight Multicultural Festival. Currently he is
also studying at the University of Calgary studying
Political Science. |

Stephen Wu
Aldermanic Community Liaison
Stephen works for Helene as her summer student for 2007.
Stephen has been tasked with assisting various special
projects that Helene is involved with such as the NE
Centre of Community Society Golf Tournament, organizing
community open houses, etc. He is also responsible for
managing and designing the new Ward 3 Community
Website. Stephen studies at the University of British
Columbia (Vancouver) majoring in cell biology & genetics and minoring in commerce
at the UBC Sauder School of Business. |
